SECURITY: A call to Action

Image
The few distinction between an armed robber and a bandit is described as a "thief with a weapon, especially one belonging to a group that attacks people travelling through the countryside", but the common denominator is that both are thieves and they carry arms. Bandits also attack highbrow areas. The insecurity does not stop only on borderline communities. Last year, thieves attacked my neighborhood and robbed 7 houses unhindered. One year after that, November 2020, they came around again. This time, it was another 9 flats. Why did I mentioned that? These callous people know that we are not secured. The most daunting challenge we have as Nigerians is that we are so divided in almost everything mundane you can think of. To come together and form an alternative security outfit to protect ourselves and our families is a huge task that needs orientation in all of us. Believe me, we couldn't achieve this task, a very simple issue that concerned residents until 2 weeks ago. A...

PASTOR ALLEGEDLY ABDUCTS A MUSLIM GIRL, CONVERTS HER TO CHRISTIANITY

The plight of a Muslim girl, Sadiya Idris, who was stolen by a Kaduna pastor, Reverend Jonah Gangers, has been brought into limelight. Although the case is already in court, the Nigerian Islamic human rights organization, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has called for a speedy trial and the arrest and prosecution of the accomplices of Rev. Gangers. MURIC made the demand in a statement issued on Friday, 13th November, 2020. MURIC’s press release was signed by its director, Professor Ishaq Akintola. The group said, “Sadiya Idris of Tudun Nupawa, Kaduna, was kidnapped in 2013 at the age of eleven by Reverend Jonah Gangers who resides in Barakallahu, Kaduna, and has his church there. The reverend was allegedly aided by a dubious character called Peter. Sadiya was kept against her wish in Rev. Gangers’ house until the suspects felt it was safe enough to move her. “Meanwhile Sadiya’s parents, Mallam Idris and Mallama Rukayya searched everywhere in vain for their missing daughter. The fam...

Fan milk feeding Alcohol to Muslims

aleem works with a taxi-hailing service company. He mostly closes late from work, as such gets tired all the time until he discovered the use of energy drinks. Energy drinks are produced to increase mental, physical and energy performance with combinations of caffeine, sugar, amino acids derivative and herbal extracts. Most of these  combined  ingredients contain high level of stimulants that influences alertness. Saleem's favorite is Bullet. For two years he has found solace and needed energy boost in the use of bullet. But lately, instead of increased energy, the drink makes him sleepy and dizzy. Upon careful scrutiny, He found out that for over a year he has been consuming alcohol.  Bullet in black tin is made up of substantial amount of whiskey. The bullet in blue tin is made up of taurine. Experts believe that "taurine in energy drinks is most likely due to the effect it is thought to have on mental and athletic performance. Taurine supplementation has been li...

Don't lose the opportunity

The definition of an opportunity is an favorable situation for a positive outcome. However, some outcomes could be negative, that is why others see it as a "moment if chance". When the Governor of Kaduna State , Malam Nasir El-Rufai wrote his book " The Accidental Public Servant" was he referring his present outcome as  an adjective or a noun? Either way, most sets of outcomes are due to opportunities, which young people must not ignore. A moment of luck, an opening that must not be ignored. What happens if you ignore such chances? I met a lady in a seminar on 'Developing leadership skills'. It is an annual event but that was her first presence. So I asked why she didn't attend last years' seminar? "I don't like going out" was her response. Opportunity doesn't know your address, go out as often as you can to create connections and jobs. Conferences and seminars that are related to self-development and linked to enhancing your caree...

Why is intimidation becoming normalized in Adamawa?

Harassment, intimidation and assault, are becoming normalized by politicians, especially since the coming of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State. A video of an alleged honorable Chairman of local Government in Adamawa State has begun to circulate on social media early afternoon on Saturday. In the video, the honorable was seen moving menacingly, expresing verbal threats, curses and insults towards a man believed to be a motor mechanic. Remember that an Abuja High court had ordered Senator Elisha Abbo (PDP, Adamawa) to pay the sum of N50 million to Ms. Warmate for an assault on her last year in a sex shop. A Magistrate court in the FCT had earlier dismissed the suit for lack of evidence despite a CCTV footage. Lawyers had faulted the judgement of the Magistrate, Abdullahi Ilelah, saying that instances of simple assault are physical attack, pushing someone or slapping someone in an argument. Others say that assault is the intentional use of force or violence against...

Northern Nigeria is under siege

NIGERIA AT 60 NORTH EAST ALLIANCE RIGHTS (NEAR) October 1, 2020. As you must have read from President Buhari's independence day speech, our country used to be a population of about 45 million people at independence 60 years ago, today we are grappling with a population of over 200 million people. This we believe lies one of the fundamental things that are wrong with us as a people. We have no planning for the future. Each government came and squandered our collective prosperity without making plans for the next day or for the next generation. We have had so many October 1st. We celebrated, made speeches and moved on.  For more than 5 years we have had insurgent  attacks. We made condolence speeches for the dead and moved on. For a number of years we have had gigantic figures of corruption, the recent one being  N2. 67b for school feeding funds found in private pockets. Like the previous ones discovered, this one too would be swept under the carpet without any arrest...

Tinubu and the absent President

Image
Contrary to the views of many,  Lagos State has largely remained a slum despite boasting of consistent urban renewal plan, allegedly coordinated and driven by former Governor Ahmed Bola Tinubu.  The said plan was the borne of contention and acrimony between the erstwhile Governor and former Governor Ambode who had refused to bend to Tinubu's overbearing  interference in the  administration of the state. It was the god-like dominance that led to Ambode's removal for a second term contest.  Bola Tinubu had claimed that the Lagos master plan is bigger than  anyone, not even a Governor. Any Governor that will not adhere to it must give way. Ambode gave way, however,  Lagos city has trailed behind at number 18 on the list of 25 most beautiful cities in Africa and the highest in terms of crime; a legacy of Tinubu no doubt.  The recent Edo State Governorship election was a warning shot to the towering political ambition of Bola Tinubu, as #Edo no b...

Husband scarcity hits the North

Image
The Northern tribes especially the Hausa-Fulani have often exhibit condescending traits of their tribes and culture. They have always abhorred foreign cultures, especially those regarded as Christian. With the Advent of social media, globalization is knocking down most of the Northern Nigeria pristine cultures and has exposed the hidden beast in most of the Arewa cultures. At the forefront of these casualties are the young female folks. Remember the preposterous husband video challenge that nearly ended up some marriages? That was just some emerging deviant behavioral trends creeping on the Northern cultures of morality, piety, patience, reticence and docility Some one said docility is a "necessary part of man's equipment for virtuous living. That docility is now being eroded especially as some young girls decide to advertise their needs for husband's as started by a pretty lady called Salmerh Umar via her Twitter handle @SalmerhUmar. "I can't hide my feel...

BREAKING! Femi Fani-Kayode is sick

Image
Chronicle of an angry, mentally deranged bigoted narcissist. After profiling Femi Fani-Kayode, experts  believe that only a person with a mental disorder thinks himself in an over-sized capacity of a man, over what seems harmless questions.

I am not bored

Image
For us today is the beginning of a 14 day sit-at-home order from the President. Already some people are complaining of boredom, the question I ask is, how can one be bored at his own home? You can read, alone or along with your family. You can teach the children how to recite the Holy Qur'an. Engage them in fruitful discussions about their experiences in school and what they know about the Corona virus, and any other disease for that matter. You can exercise alone or together with the family. You can play mind games and spelling contests. Essay writing could also be a marvelous window into studying the minds of children. You can have a good conversation with your parents if they are alive. There are tons of things to do. You can also learn a few skills or new languages online. This isolation order gives us moments to reflect on the trajectory of our lives and career. I hope it gives us answers to so many questions that were hitherto grey areas.

Government culprit to unemployment

Image
Two years ago we mulled the idea of starting a Keke Napep (tricycle) venture in Abuja. I was the lone voice that challenged the idea, although the rest of the stakeholders did not like it, we jettisoned the idea. Fast forward to today, the whole tricycle activity was banned in the entire FCT. It wasn't a difficult thing to see that coming. Entrepreneurs in Nigeria must learn to study the government body language as it affects businesses. Forget about the shout for 'ease of doing business' and 'creating job opportunities' by the government. The truth of the matter, and verifiably so, the government is more concerned with big businesses. Ironically, small businesses creates more jobs and impact more on the overall economic growth. In Lagos State for example, Gokada had employed nearly a thousand people in their chain of bike hailing business. They further bought 2,000 units of the bike at $1,500 a piece to expand growth and drive home opportunities for jobless Nige...

The secret story of Corona virus

Image
Another angle to the dreaded #COVID19 is swirling around with minority scientists calling it a conspiracy theory. But deeply ask yourself if there's a correlation between 5G/60 GHz frequency & the symptoms of #CoronaVirusUpdate Pls watch video below; https://www.bitchute.com/video/mWcUoESRO0c5/

Who wants to assassinate the president?

An attempt on the life of Nigeria's president  was made in Argungu. A man tried to stab Muhammadu Buhari  in what was seen to be unprecedented, especially in the heart of the North where the president has a cult-like followers. Recent happenings in the country suggests a serious waning of popularity of the president and his party, the APC. Watch video below:

Has the leopard changed its spots?

Image
Few minutes after I finished an argument on Igbo presidency with my Igbo neighbor, i stumbled onto this on Facebook. Read this: Someone said "Fulani is Yoruba's number one enemy and that the British handed over Nigeria to them." This is not the truth. The British did not hand over Nigeria to the Fulani. Parliamentary elections were held in Nigeria on 12 December 1959. The result was a hung parliament with no clear majority to form a government. Zik's National Council of Nigeria and Cameroons (NCNC), came first with 2,594,577 votes to get 81 seats. Awolowo's Action Group (AG), came second with 1,992,364 votes to get 73 seats. However, the Ahmadu Bello's Northern People's Congress (NPC), came a distant third with 1,922,179 votes to get 134 of the 312 seats in the House of Representatives despite getting less public votes. The above three major political parties in the election did not get enough number of the seats to form a government. An al...

Is the PDP calling for a civil disobedience?

Image
A flurry of hightened political activities have indicated a default set of anxiety due to the pronouncement of the supreme court that removed the Imo state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha (PDP). Another set of governors to be removed are Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa PDP), Sen. Bala Mohammed (Bauchi PDP) and Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto PDP). Other souces also included Samuel Ortom (Benue PDP) and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano APC). As at present, the governor of Adamawa and all of his local government council chairmen have stormed Abuja. Some of the State house Assembly have also arrived Abuja with few of them claiming that their work is for the people of Adamawa and not particularly for the Governor. Their arrival in the capital is to answer the call for a protest against the Supreme court verdict which have upturned the Governorship election in Imo, and a strong indication too that other PDP Governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue and Sokoto may also face the same fate of Imo whi...

Some solutions to almajiri problem

Image
It is often said that difficult problems requires difficult solutions, almajiranci (child begging/labor) therefore calls for unemotional drastic measures, some of which are; 1) All almajiri/stray children must be mopped off the street and camped in a special facility by State Governments or any organized participating party recognized by government. 2) Special tutors and teachers to be provided for them with multiple languages and skills in technology 3) Engage them with Arabic and Artificial intelligence, teach them computer hard ware and software skills. This will provide more employment opportunities for Nigerians as well as broaden the scope of our digital transformation, now that we have a ministry for it. 4) Such children must work for a period of time upon graduation for the specific state government that paid for their schooling 5) Engagement them in science, medicine and mechanization. 6) Family planning should be enforced, religious organizations and the National ...
