Kanu’s appearance and my apology to the Nigerian Army By Charles Mbani

Wonders, as they say, shall never end in Nigeria. I am so ashamed of myself. So much so that I feel like disappearing from the surface of the earth upon watching the video of the “almighty Nnamdi Kanu” of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) praying in Jerusalem for misleading our people and absconding with his ill-gotten wealth. These are indeed lessons to be learned when we wipe up unnecessary sentiments in the polity. And also a reminder to us as a people that we should take our time to study the motives and actions of individuals masquerading themselves as religious and ethnic champions. The Nnamdi Kanu’s case was quite an unfortunate episode when one realized how he deceived many people into believing he is the messiah they have been waiting for. He became a nuisance, and he is still one, and he gave out himself, not only as an ethnic champion, but he also arrogated himself a spiritual role in the lives of some members of the unsuspecting public. In truth, I was one of th...

A test for Adams Oshiomole

Primary elections have come and gone with winners and losers. Whichever divide you fall in, the scars would take long to heal, because of the nature of 'winner takes all' of our politics. This syndrome, to a large extent, have characterized the cut-throat competition in our political process. What former President Obasanjo called 'do or die, a term defining extreme measures people take to get into political power and to cling to such no matter the consequence. This syndrome has buttressed the fact that  our political culture is taking a curve to maturity. History will be kind to Senator Omo Agege who stood against the illegality of suspending Senators at will. History will also be very kind to electorates who voted against political leaders that have absconded from their moral obligations as exemplified by the good people of Gubio, Magumeri, Kaga local governments of Borno state who refused to return their member house of representatives  with a zero vote during the A...

A little reminder to Peter Obi

Image
I think we are making some progress, a few months ago Emeka would never have sent a unity campaign  message like this. Thank God the emergence of Peter Obi as Vice Presidential candidate in the Zoo is beginning to change the narratives. Unity of all the people of the country is good but when campaigns for election start in earnest, the candidates will move across parts of the country to canvass for votes. I wonder what Obi will tell the Northern people especially the Hausa and Nupe Muslim communities why as a governor in Anambra he decided discriminate against them by  demolishing their markets, like the  Northern Goat Dealers Market ,  Arewa Park , Arewa Onion Dealers Park etc When he goes to Yoruba Land he will have to explain a similar action he took at Osogbo Park , Akure Park and Ilorin Park. These parks at Bridge Head have been in existence since 1977 but he decided to demolish them in an attempt to force the non' indigenes ' surrender their businesses to...

Dollarization of PDP primary election

From the wall of Janet L Salomon People are complaining that there is no money but not knowing that the money is being controlled by few individuals. In today's PDP's presidential convention. We are made to understand the convention has been dollarized Let's go mathematically with the money expended so far by some of the aspirants. There are 4,000 delegates at the convention Bukola Saraki is doling out $1000 per delegate so,  $1000*4000=4000000($4million) Let's go by N350 exchange rate 350*4000000=(N1400000000)(N1.4bn) Where did Saraki get this money from? Atiku Abubakar is doling out $5000 5000*4000=$20000000 20000000*350=(N70000000)(N7bn) . We understand Atiku Abubakar owns various businesses and he can say he got his money through the businesses. Nyesom Wike is doling out $10000 $10000*4000=($40,000000)($40million) 350*40000000=(N14bn) Where did Wike gets such money from? This was how GEJ dollarize the entire nation prior to 2015 generation e...

The killing zones in the plateau

Image
Some of the dangerous routes that travellers are likely to be killed around Plateau are; Du Riyom Heipang Kassa Du is however an abbatoir for the Berom terrorists, where they kill innocent travelers, drink their blood and eat the corpse and bury some. The Du pond is a clear indication where they have been trying to hide evidence of their barbaric atrocities.
