Enough threats from Christians
The body of Christ has been dishing out menu of threats to the Nigerian state ever since the emergence of a Muslim president in 2015. This has been carefully laced to avoid a tint of political undertone in the series of threats pushed up as warnings from an angry Christian God wrapped as holy spirit.
The recent one was coming from an angry Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. (who used to be good friends with President Muhammadu Buhari but fell out of favor with the presidency because his (Mbaka's) contract favors were not met.)
Father Mbaka with President Buhari when the going was goodSpeaking during a sermon at the adoration ground in Enugu State, Mbaka threatened that the spirit of the Lord has asked him to tell Nigerians that "There may be no Nigeria again if the President, because of whatever, tries to hand over power back to the north. After Buhari, the Northerners should forget about leadership in this coming political era".
That was a threat coming out of the spirit of the lord as expressed through Rev. Mbaka. However, that spirit of the Lord did not choose to offer solutions to poverty ravaging the country, or alternative to the end of malaria but only to threatened Nigerians on who to hand over power to? I say that spirit is a wicked one.
Nigerian Muslims can not be cowed to submission by the likes of such Christian priests actively supported by the political establishment in the South of the country.
The laws of the country, and decency, allowed participation in politics by everyone across all divides in the country.
Creating unnecessary mischief managed by false spirit of god in selective prophecies of doom to scare Muslims and Northerners is a sour broth that can never be consumed by the North of Nigeria.
If Southerners want power they must act like good politicians and reach out to all parts of the country in good faith, friendship and brotherhood and not by threats.
Threats undermine trust and friendship. These are what will tear the country apart and not a Northern presidency as unsuccessfully being peddled by the Church and Southern politicians.
Particularly, the South East has used their clergy and IPOB as attack dogs in irresponsible and antagonistic utterances to hurt the economy and political gains of the North.
These issues will be taken serious and urgent care will be put in place to counter such antagonistic posturing.
